http proxy

Monday, May 8, 2006 by powerpk | Discussion: Widget talk

I am behind firewall and I can only use http proxy to connect outsite. I was assuming that it would use windows proxy configuration from ie to connect outside. I tried to change the location to my city, nothing happen.

Anyidea on how to fix it?

Thanks

If it's not the firewall it could be script blocking.

can't help with employer
depending on what y'all use, you may have to allow internet access and/or allow script or turn of script blocking

I do have internet access
I was assuming the widget will use some sort of RSS feed or http post to get info, in which case it would be the same as browser, and should use proxy server it available (or configurable). Script blocking only applies to local personal firewalls.

My question is how does a widget get info from the net, which protocol, port?

Thanks
