BTX Motherboards: Price Range Help!!

Monday, May 1, 2006 by joeKnowledge | Discussion: PC Hardware

Following the link provided by Extreme Tech I was given, I saw the crazy differences between prices for what seemed to be the same board.

BTX is a new (if you call a few years old new) mother board layout that is suppossed to replace the ATX form factor. Great. So why does a 249 dollar motherboard cost 300 or 2000 dollars? I can see if the FSB was super high on one and not the other, but they all seem the same. microBTX verses picoBTX verse regular... I can't seem to make out why someone would charge 300 vs 2000 (this is the actual range!)

Does someone here know exaclty where I should go to get a BTX (and other parts to make the computer) without getting ripped off?

Thanks in advance.

"Package quantity - 10"

Those 1000 to 2000 dollar ones are packs of 10 MoBos...

LoL..that might tmake a difference..ya think?

What I do when building PC's Joe, is price hunt..
I think it's pretty much standard on anything your going to buy, PC hardware or whatever.. Your going to find a a margin in pricing..

Just depends how patient you wanna be... you could just buy it anywhere to have it ASAP, or you can run searches on the items through Ebay, Bargainhunters.com, and a few other resources..

G'luck!
