Adaptation for a wide display

Hello all,
I have a notebook with a wide aspect display, and I keep my resolution set at 1280 x 800 px. Is there a generally used way to adapt the normal skins and desktops to conform with this setting?

my laptop runs at 1680x1050 and everything is totally fine...nothing is "squishing", everything conforms to the resolution...maybe you could post some screenshots to show the problem? what graphics card are you using?

Well, it isn't everything...just desktop backgrounds and some DesktopX themes. There's one I like called "LCARS Computer Core 4.02" but it gets cut off at the top and bottom.

On most laptops, if you go into the Panel Properties, you should be able to change your Scale Image Attributes. That could help. Right Click in the middle of your Desktop, hit Properties. Click on the Setting Tab. Then click on the Advanced button within your settings Tab. Then click on a Tab that says, or should say Displays. Then click on the Tab that says Panel. Now you're at your Panel Attributes. There'll be 2 bullets, one that says, Expand to full size, and the other says, Expand while Maintaining Aspect Ratio. Click on the bullet that isn't highlighted and hit Apply. Hopefully that'll work. If not, you'll have to call in the real experts.

unfortunately most walls are for non-widescreen users, so yes, they can look distorted....try Skinned Alive suggestion or make your own wallpapers...crop exisitng walls to your aspect ratio, then they will look fine

For the DTX themes, you'll probably either have to use one that is resolution independent or go into builder mode and restructure to fit.
