Changing PNG's to Icons - Poor results
Help Please!
Sunday, March 26, 2006 by TheGuyPC | Discussion: Icons
I've tried a couple of different programs to change png's (object dock icons) into .ico's. They work, but the outcome is rendered poorly. The thing is, If I take that same output and put it in my dock, it looks perfect.
Is there some way I can make these converted icons look better on my desktop?
Thanks in advance,
Corey

I don't really care for IconX much, but I didn't know that you could use PNG's in place of .ico's so I may have to try that again and compare the results.
Either way, it's much improved now, and I found a heck-uva freeware image convertor to boot!
Thanks For All Of Your Responses!

(currently running the shareware versions if that makes a difference)

I tryed out both icon editors suggested above. I can't tell the difference between the results.
Icon workshop did seem to have a little nicer interface IMO though. I don't know that this is worth the $ though being as how I'll get the icon developer for free when I purchase this stuff.

I have the shareware at the moment so I'll likely wait to work this out as the shareware is completely fluid for me right now. (meaning it won't save settings).
I'm glad I asked though.
Funny, it should be another "Corey" that had problems. Hope that's not a sign!
