Problems with OD

I upgraded to OD plis and I can't get the back grounds or icons to change when... I try to change them the program just locks up! Can anyone help?
I know I'm new but I have been using the shareware for a while now and it works fine. I have gone back to using it till I get some help on this problem.

Make sure to save any dock files you want to use for themes in "Plus" version > unload and uninstall the free version > reboot > clear the cache folder (instructions here http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?AID=82461) > install OD+ > set up your new theme.

Do they have to be themes or can I do one at a time like for various icons?

You can do one at a time, the same as with OD free.

When I installed it, it didnot go into it's own folder but into Stardock> desktop> desktop X! I don't know why , I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times but it still went there so I got all the files together and have it working but it's not perfect , I mean like the shareware I was using , but it is working and I'll ues it till I figure it all out.
Thank you for your help I was getting kinda flustered with it.

Something is definitely wrong there.

It should install (by default) to:

"C:\Program Files\Stardock" folder, so the program folder address would be - "C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock".

If you decide to mess with it later, uninstall > reboot > clear the cache > delete all "ObjectDock" folders found under the "C:\Program Files\Stardock" folder > reinstall, paying attention to any indicated install path and if allowed, set to the "C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock" destination.

I would guess that in not deleting all trace of the old program folders, the installer may have followed leftover path traces for some reason.

Good to hear you got it going anyway.

I may try to fix everything later but I had this program for a coulpe of weeks and am just glad to have it working almost as it should
