Per application not working in WB5

Wednesday, March 8, 2006 by jsawiuk | Discussion: WindowBlinds

My per app settings page in WB 5 has looked like this for quite a time (in all versions of WB5, with all skins):

No buttons, no possible actions. Otherwise WB5 seems to be working properly and doesn't show any other deviations. I've tried reinstalling it, but that didn't change anything. Please help!

did you ever have the trial version?
if so, did you fully uninstall prior to installing WB5?
if not, did any version of WB have the buttons, for you?

I had a trial, but uninstalled it completely, previous versions (up till WB5 final) had all the buttons.

I don't actually remember that, as the trial was not working properly for me and I uninstalled it pretty quickly.

which WB version is showing as installed when accessing SDC?

is 4.6 still an option for you (as in showing to be installed, not whether you would consider using it )?

how many WB skins do you have downloaded?

do you have the ODZapper?

know where I'm going with this?

Only WB 5 is installed, but wb 4.6 is an option in SCD. I have around 15 skins and don't have an idea what ODZapper is, nor where you are goin with this

Bichur wants you to back up your skins, zap (totally remove any vestige of WB, and install 4.6.

He's a scorched earth kinda guy.

ODNT Zapper: https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe

Be warned, this will get rid of any themes or skins for the appropriate components, so be sure to copy them before running the zapper - they’re usually found in directories within C:/Program Files/Object Desktop/{component name}.

Can I install WB 5 first and check if it solves the problem?

Can I install WB 5 first and check if it solves the problem? Or is there a stratgy in installing 4.6 first and then Wb 5 on top of it or something?

unglitched link to zapper:  http://tinyurl.com/r8xw5

well yeah....I don't recommend scorching unless all else fails.

I was going to suggest 1st ... uninstalling 5 ...reboot...install 4.6 - reboot - see if you have buttons...if so, uninstall 4.6 - reboot - install 5 - reboot and see if you still have buttons

It looks like the problem is a font issue.  The default OS font must not be changed or things like this happen as dialog sizing is based on the default dialog font.

I you have manually edited the registry to change the default OS font, you must set it back.
