How do you create new desktop icons?

When I use IconPackager and open the Package Builder under the Desktop Icons section I am offered "IE", "My Computer", "My Computer", etc. for a total of 8 icons. How do I create new icons? I have around 14 icons on my desktop. Some are programs and others are folders containing programs. Examples would by "music", "videos", Microsoft Money, MSN Messenger, and so forth. It is tiring to have to change each of them with a new "picture" every time I change my icon package so that all the icons have a similar theme or appearance. I would like to be able to add completely new, and labeled, icons to my different packages so it is a one step deal. Am I making sense here? I know how to change existing icons by drag-and-drop. I want entirely new icons and I want them to always show up on the desktop along with the regular one. Is this possible with IconPackager and/or IconDeveloper? Thanks.

You can have 2 shortcuts "Icons" that point to the same program but you have to change the name of the second shortcut ie#2 etc...Just use copy/paste then right click and choose "Change Icon" choose the icon you want and rename the shortcut as you see fit.
As for the Icons themselves 32bit bmps with the extention changed to .ico work but you need to have a program that allows you to create 32 bit bmps, Icon Developer I think works...

Hi I am new to this kind of stuff and i have tried to create my own icons using Corel Draw 11 by using shots of icons. The problem is that when i try to export my images, i cant select the transperancy option. Any help?

Package Builder divides the icons into sections...Desktop, Start, Folders, Drives, etc. I don't believe it allows for individual programs, like say Photoshop or Nero.
However, once you have created a 'Theme' with your icons...with an icon pack and then the matching ones for the programs you have on your Desktop, you could save it along with your WB, cursor, etc., that you are using with that theme in Theme Manager.
You can also create Icon 'Themes' with ObjectDock as well, using an IP and then the individual icons as applied to programs, and save each theme in ObjectDock.
