SP2 & Stardock

Wednesday, February 22, 2006 by chrism583 | Discussion: Stardock Support General

This may seem like a silly/obvious question but I remember when Service Pack 2 came out for XP Microsofts knowledge base said that bootskin would stop working after installing. I was wondering if that had been fixed or was still a problem?

Apparently SP2 did cause bootskin issues for some, I use bootskin on Windows XP Home SP2 with no problems.

It is hardware specific. I'm not able to run it on one of my Sony Laptops.

The knowledge base article didn't say it WOULD stop working, it said it it MAY stop working....

This problem may occur if you use the BootSkin program from Stardock Corporation.

To resolve this problem, turn off BootSkin before you install Windows XP Service Pack 2.
