We have reproduced something similar on one machine with animations enabled.
There will be a new build coming today (hopefully) which should fix that issue and so possibly resolve these issues as well. If not please let us know.

I removed the old version, cleaned up the registry entries, reinstalled this "all-new" august version, and still my windows and menus are transparent.
The only thing that works like a charm here in WindowFX is the transitions, BUT I have to turn all EVERYTHING ELSE so it can work.
It seems to me that that are still lots of work to do.
So far, for me, WindowFX is frustrating... unfortunately.
Come on, Stardock! Show us what you're capable of! Give us everything you got!
Does anybody know WHEN a new version could be released???

I am sorry to say that if you still have problems then the problem you are having is different from the problem in this thread and so we will need additional information on the problem you are having.
If your menus are transparent as well, I would look for any utilities you have running which are trying to make menus semi transparent etc. If you have Nvidia Nview running then try unloading it.

Enabling any of the transparency settings in WindowFX causes both my menus AND dialog windows to turn invisibles. For example: with WFX active, if I click on properties on my desktop to reach the "Display properties", the window does not appear to me, altough it is opened, wich I can confirm pressing ALT+TAB.
I'm also running on startup Kaspersky AntiVirus x64, WindowBlinds (works like a charm!) and Logitech SetPoint x64 software.
I used to have Windows 32bit in my system, but x64 is at least 30% faster then XP x86, and that really makes difference to me.
Anyway, if someone knows a tip...
Thanks a lot!

My computer is an AMD 4600+ Dual Core running Windows XP x64, ATI X1600, 2GB Ram, 2 * 160 SATA HD Drives.
Like everyone else who reported this problem, I find it very frustrating to have spent my money and can not now use the latest version of the software. Some how I don't believe my hardware is lacking!
Also, since 64 bit technology is the future, why isn't Stardock embracing it now? If they were, all the programs would load in the Program Files folder, not in the Program Files(x86) folder.
Regards,
Dave

The apps are installed in the 32 bit program files folder because the installer app is a 32 bit process. This has no impact on the apps.
Additionally due to how 64 bit Windows works, 32 bit components have to be included with many of our apps as well as 64 bit ones. In general we port those bits which need porting and leave the remainder as 32 bit as this reduces testing required. For example wbconfig is 32 bit on all platforms as it has no need for a 64 bit address space!
I notice both reports since the update are on 64 bit Windows, so there may be an additional problem on that OS. WB and WFX Beta updates tend to be for 32 bit Windows only as the vast majority of our users use 32 bit. Release updates & RCs are when the 64 bit files get updated.

Can you tell me where can I find the 2.89b version for download? Through StardockCentral and Stardock website I was able to find only the current versions (3.00.13 and 3.00a.005).
Does this version works under x64 (I mean, do the menus and windows actually appear?)
As for the x64 thing...
I believe that as long as it works (stable) and has no impact on my computer's performance, I really don't care if the program installs itself in the x86 folder. And I've noticed that some Stardock applications have the x64 version installed into my system, even in the x86 folder (wbinstall64.exe; IconPackager64.exe; windowfx64, etc.).
Thanks again.

I agree with your comments relative to a stable platform and who reall cares where the files are located. I just want the ting to work! As for the older version on WindowsFX, while in Stardock Central, I just used the Restore Archive function under the File Menu and then selected WindowsFX. 2.89 was the version available and it works fine for me.
Hope this helps,
Dave
