Crabby Mouse...

Driving me nuts!

Saturday, February 18, 2006 by Fuzzy Logic | Discussion: PC Hardware

Every so often my cursor will shoot to the corner of the screen. It appears to choose the corner at random. During games it gets annoying - in UT2004 the room spins round and I end up facing the wrong way...

I've changed the mouse, changed the driver and changed the settings. Any other suggestions?

Using Multiplicity? I've had it happen a few times since I installed MP.

It also happens when I am in low-light conditions and the tabletPC is on "adjust to abiant light" settings.

My mouse does it too once in a while. I have a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse deal. I like it, but the cursor jumping can get annoying when I'm working in Illustrator or Photoshop. Or the occasional game. Using a mousepad seems to prevent it, but I don't care enough. If it bothers you, try a mousepad, or another surface.
Erk.

This happens on my machine as well ...only ever happens with the optical mouse/mice [both wireless & wired].

If I switch to my ps2 trackball mouse ..it stops doing it.

Annoying when it happens, and I haven't found a fix other than that.
