CursorXP stops the cursor!

Stop when minimize

Monday, February 13, 2006 by playerdude | Discussion: OS Customization

Im using WB5 and CursorXP, every time a window is minimized and "animated" the cursor stops for the time the window goes down.
Just like mediaplayer stops the video when doing this also my cursor stops when minimizing. My cursor won't stop if I use the default xp cursor.
I'm not using windowFX.

Note: Most of the time I minimize windows there is no "animation" at all, I mean that the window just disappears and when I restore the window it just appears without any "rising" animation. When doing this my cursor wont stop of course, only when "animating" to taskbar and back up.

Why doesn't WB "animate" all the windows when minimizing them? Can I do something about my stopping cursor? If you use WindowFX 3beta and animate window-minimizing etc. will my cursor stop then?

Help appriciated.

Are you using the WinFX beta too? Some other app that affects min/max windows?

Animations in WB are limited to skin (Fish swimming or KITT-like light ON the skin) and things like file copy or delete.

What other apps might be animating the windows min/max? WB doesn't do that.

I'm guessing that whatever is animating your windows is using all your available resources and that's affecting CXP.

Find that program and you've probably solved your problem.

no there is no program animating windows. The animations appear only with specific programs like firefox 1.5 so I quess the program is animating it itself. It's not that the animation would use all the system resources because media player for example ALWAYS stops the playback for the animation moment with any possible computer when minimizing windows! I quess that the CXP is related to the same issue and stops just like media player for example. WB is not animating anything and thats why normal windows use won't stop the cursor, only some programs that appear to animate themselves. So I'm wondering if this cursor stopping is noticed when using winFX 3 with wb5.

Still, the cursor stopping isn't that disturbing since it stops only for a short time and I'm going to test the WinFX 3 some time in the hope of getting some cool animations to my wb5 skin

Yeah and has anyone noticed this CXP stopping with the normal windows skin (no WB or anything) when minimizing windows?
