Yup, Narby.
I ran into the same issue while running the beta version of that WB build. If you open an explorer window (control panel, my pictures etc.) and maximize it, I bet you'll see the same thing. It's like the text is trying to be see-through (if you have a black desktop background and no windows open behind the maxed window it looks normal). I rolled back to v7.1 and all is well.
I would suggest posting a bug report in the forum to Neil Banfield.

well, has to have XP to be a masterskin, and is a pity it doesn't, think it would have been very successful for you.... it's a very cool blind.... but on the other hand....a nice Christmas present for those with 7 & Vista....
my fave of your blinds thus far.... great job.....
