Actually you are close, "Robota" is the original Czech word that "Robot" comes from, roughly the original word means "Slave"... The composition is a bit more a commentary on the concept of when does a machine stop being a machine and instead being a slave. This has been the subject of a lot of Sci-fi etc. If you are curious do a google search on "Rossum's Universal Robots"
