My desktop now looks much better thanks to that link from Boss019. In the screenshot above, I had taken an 800x600 original wall and blown up the cut-out panels to fit 2560x1280--fuh-zee. After downloading the http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/3391843/]1600x640 original from Silveryn, I redid the panels in my variation, blowing them up only about 20%. Now they're much sharper.
