Suggestions:
1. Could you later make a version where the pink is remplaced with Blue?
2. could you make on for size: 1440X900 resolution or compatible ?
3. make one for Astonshell too if possible.

Comments:

I think it look very nice
while i would like to have one where light blue color remplaced most
of the pink too.

im running XP/sp2 as well as the Generation wb
At this point it is set at 1280x1024.other resolutions may come later . im basically playing with this for myself .. this is adam solley's version im just bringing it up to the DX 3 standard.. and adding a few tweaks. "button push color changes, sound effects for buttons and straightned up some animations"

working on this is helping me to better my knowledge of DX building..

the media interface shown (in my other screen shot) is a page that opens when you click on the "Lcars Media Library" button.....

theres 9 or so total interfaces that close and open as you navigate the DX theme...

i may ask adams permission to upload as a new version when completed..

You can have my permission now; let me know when you've finished it, as it would be really good to see. I take it you have worked out how the theme operates a complex system of layers without a single script? There were a few dead screens that required a script to get you back to the main screen, you've probably noticed that the desktop layer (which is rarely ever visible has a large mouse over button that automatically redirects you to the main layer (with out the user actually being aware of this), it took quit a lot of thought to come up with this system. I hoped to see more multi-layered themes but none really followed, glad LCARS is back.

As for colours I actually took samples from the original screen shots from the Star Trek TV series, and I kept their colour pallet, I found deviating too far from these colours made the theme too colourful and almost cartoon like. If you do a search on WC https://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?

you can see some themes that really missed the point.

One man you should talk to is Rmart https://www.wincustomize.com/MySkins.aspx?ACID=82162 he is a successful LCARS maker, and me and him used to exchange concepts and share ideas, he might even be working on the project as well!

Good work and good luck, you must have the patience of a saint to work with my rickety old theme lol

http://www.lcars.org.uk/ a very good working version of the LCARS system! Probably the best!!!!

http://www.lcars.org.uk/lcars_files/science.jpg And this page has a very similar screen shot to the one that I tried to imitate for the main screen, the one I worked with was only a thumbnail this is a much better version

You might what to contact this person and see if you can get copies of his sounds as they are the best that I have he

You might what to contact this person and see if you can get copies of his sounds as they are the best that I have heard, he sounds quite willing to share his stuff
For all those Star Trek fans looking for good quality animation, please be patient whilst the database is loading, it's worth the wait.

One of the chief problems with some Star Trek sites is sadly the lack of originality, especially in animation.

All web masters feel free to view or download any of the material. It is all here for your enjoyment. If you wish to use any of the material here, on your own website, then all I ask is that you link your site back to this site.

np Adam ... thx for the support and kind words.. it will be a while til i have it done...lots of buttons and sounds to add .. not to mention redoing some of the transitional stuff .. your use of hide/show layers to get the page states is quite unique, and well thought out. Im actually having a blast working on it...

Yes the layer system is quite complex, in fact for the original release I actually had my own screen, which enabled me to create the theme and navigate around the computer when the taskbar or other windows elements were unavailable. The screen had links to every page and it was the only one that wasn't closed by new layers opening, no one ever found it. I later removed this screen to streamline the interface, especially as the computers were a little slower and most people still had dial-up. Things are different now!

Hey good to see that LCARS is back and as popular as every, it even made front page news! Well good luck, out of all of the people that have stepped up to the challenge of recreating Adam Solley's master piece, you have followed it the closest. Well done man, I look forward to the finished product!
