The only advice i can give(and believe me,i'm no expert!)is to take a look at what's out there,extract what appeals to you,add your own creativity to it and see what happens.
I've only been doing screenshots for a couple of months but i learn a lot from looking at many of the great works presented here.After a few tries i realised that we all use the same tools, it's our imagination that makes the difference.
Do what you feel and don't be intimidated,after all "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
