Nice looking Logon and congrats to "Top Author". The planet earth will be here in some form or another until the Sun dies 
. When she dies she will take out all the planets up to Jupitor (I think it Jupitor, if not it's close) . The good thing is we will never see that happen

You're right. The Sun would become a 'Red Giant' Star, expanding out to between Mars and Jupiter, and eventually imploding back into itself
