I try, this one actually is pretty nice. It's great to hear the feedback though, I love hearing that people think the bootskin looks good.
People ask sometimes why are bootskins so popular, who reboots so many times that you need such a huge collection of bootskins? The art itself is good enough reason but my recent wb work has seen me reboot my machines several times a week or a day even (sometimes a wb theme won't unload or load properly, unloading & starting the windowblinds service doesn't always work, so a reboot sometimes is necessary). Don't get me started on desktopx themes, I'm kind of sitting on the fence on if I want to get involved in that or not. The download action in that section is crazy but I'm not sold yet on the themes, they tend to be screen resolution dependant (if you run 1024, don't download a 1280 dx theme, etc.) and my brain doesn't seem to want work in dxtheme mode where you're practically redesigning the gui interface which ends up looking a little rough for my taste but alot of people like it and I think it would be good to expand my skillset a little bit into that area - but back to the topic of rebooting, I've had problems with installing some dxthemes where it got to the point where I had to reboot to get back to my normal gui/wb environment. So all in all, alot of rebooting (I have a clue about pc's in general, and I can work the task manager pretty well and kill processes as I need to when something farts & messed up the system so if I didn't have to reboot I wouldn't) when using my systems & testing other skinning projects and also when testing bootskins. There is definitely a need for bootskins - after using bootskin I don't think I could go back to a pc (except at work of course) that didn't run bootskin, I need something different than the standard windows bootscreen.
I worked a bit on the energy glow in the bootskin above, the previous version just had one ring around the vista globe, this one has a few with some shadowing & glow effects to make the rings stand out and make them look like they're "crackling with energy" (kind of like my rice krispies).
The hyperspace/vortec bkgrnd adds more depth to the bootskin and adjusting the colors took a bite out of the in your face brightness that the original version had. Of course, the bootskin wouldn't be anything without the progress bar - I'm a big fan of that multi-tone version you worked on for me, I love it, it makes all my bootskins look better.

I think the Moderators lack humor.
Or at least on our level.
Honestly, I think Queen Elizabeth II has a more upbeat, slapstick, play on words style, sense of humor than these guys do.
So remember Rob, one of the requirements, if you're going to try to be a Moderator, 1st you have to drop the humor.
We'll have no funny stuff or child like bahavior on this adult oriented website.��
