It's kind of funny how it came out. Sometimes it comes out like the preview and other times it comes out different like you noticed. The smaller screen the better picture I guess. Thanks for the comment

Hey Dslv, when I first started doing bootskins I did some space scenes with images from NASA. I found that images like this one you did, nebula type scenes, very rarely worked out well. I think it is due to the mixing of colors is similar to a gradient, which do not decrease to 16 color very well. As for smaller image looking better, some of my skins from my terragen renders, the small thumbnail pic look worse than the full preview.

This is a picture made by my son for art class. I asked him about coloring and he said much the same as you did. However I have 7 different computers in the house and it looks different on each one. To many colors makes it difficult for reducing it 16 colors and this skin is an example. Thanks for the info.
