Icon Developer Problem
Friday, December 9, 2005 by 47songs | Discussion: Icons
I open ID and choose convert image to icon. I open a png file and select the 128x128 XP format. Click Ok. Then try to save it, but it doesn't work.
Anyone have any ideas?

After I saved them, I had not had to double click them in the past for any reason. So I tried double clicking the saved icon. It opened in Irfanview and gave me the option to save as an icon or png file. I tried both ways, however both ways left me with a black background. Even the png!
I'll keep working on it.
Thanks, Skinstudio for input, info and for considering the next ID update.

I was wondering where Koasati came in on this! I was beginning to believe SkinStudio was an alias for Koasati!

Donna,
This sounds like you have Infranview as the default handler for viewing ".ico" files.
If so, what happens if you set IconDeveloper as the associated program for ".ico" files (Tools > Preferences > File Types > select ".ico" > click "Apply"), and then double-click the file to view all the included formats after saving?
I'm not sure that this will make any difference, but it might be worth a try.

I hope others like Bichur and Webgismos are able to get ID working to their specifications as well. Good luck guys!

If you want to use a different editor automatically on double click then in ID, tools, preferences, image editors - add the one you want - then move it up to the top of the list.

| When I do that Bichur I don't see anything listed except Shell Edit/Shell Open |
Click the add button and browse for the .exe of graphics software, then move it to top.
