'stuff' to be thunking of
Friday, December 2, 2005 by Jafo | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues
With two and a half million odd site members [ok...some are less odd] ... it's often difficult, bordering on pathologically impossible to know/remember each and every one of you guys ['guys' is a generic term....actually includes 'gals'].....
So....
When emailing an admin/mod with the latest drama to beset mankind since the second coming, or last ice age....it's real neat and handy to remind us/them all of who and/or what you might be known as/by....aka...WC 'Nick'.
Dang it if it doesn't help big-time...![]()
"hi, Fred here again, Jafo....about that upload last fall....." [methinks....'when was/is 'fall'?]...![]()
Equally important, however is 'intercourse', aka 'dialogue', whereby confirmation of communication via acknowledgement can really help in stemming the potential angst of those imparting 'requests' that they are indeed heeded.
Issues arise from time to time over all sorts of weird and whacky [ (sp) never did look right] communications that go either unheeded or just not received.
If a Mod/Admin finds a drama that warrants communication then it's only appropriate that there's a reasoned response....
Supposedly even 'F.A.B' was alleged to mean 'Fully Acknowledged Broadcast'...but was later claimed to be just 'fab' as in 'brille', except made to look meaningful with punctuation...![]()
Whatever....either way, don't forget that the simple, polite response can avert future recriminations and/or hair-pulling...![]()

I was expecting a response to an e-mail I sent out a few weeks ago over some errant behaviour. I simple but polite "sorry it won't happen again" would suffice and satisfy me the person understood the consequences of their actions. Instead all I have is silence.
So, as #19, has this hit the spam filter or is it a refusal to respond? Anyway, for now, the individual is being watched and any repeat of the behaviour will result in instant removal. Communication could avoid such drastic action.
Communication is a two way street... but sometimes you feel like you're heading down a dead end...

Seriously, hats off to the thick skinned (or extremely patient) (or extremely dedicated) (or masochistic) moderators of this site who do what they do to keep this place running like a well oiled machine!!

I might miss something because I'm going deaf in my old age and in need of glasses
, but if I'm made aware that somebody it attempting to communicate I will respond....it's only polite. It's a case of do unto others cos I hate talking to myself.
