Is this a logon that you down loaded or one you are creating?

I've had that.
for me: the power button white strip showed up when I was trying to make it transparent (doens't work for me)
the blotches for me were when i used a jpg and the blotched areas were shaded differently than the rest. like alpha blended or something

when I went back and recolored over it it came out okay.

Maybe check your (mask color) in the (Properties-center panel)
set it to 255,0,255 (pink)

For future reference, setting bottom panel to false does not work properly, just set height to zero.
Do not backspace out all numbers if you do logonstudio will crash.
The white blotches in center panel image is normally due to converting a low quality jpg to the needed bmp and having image set to stretched. Setting first and last color to black,0 0 0, will normally fix it.
