Config Window Open after each reboot

Monday, November 7, 2005 by Thomcat | Discussion: DesktopX

After rebooting, the configuration windows for desktopx and startdock central always open up. Once I hit cancel, they both load properly so I guess this is more of an annoyance than anything else. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It only started after installing the lasted stardock central program and windowblinds program. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Check your startup folder: Start->All Programs (or Programs if in classic mode)->Startup and verify neither is listed. If they are, just delete them as they're only shortcuts here.

(Note: if you are running windows 2000, you will not have msconfig loaded by default. You should be able to download this .exe file from many sites, just try a search on google for "msconfig").
Check msconfig: Start->Run, then type msconfig and press enter. Click on the Startup tab and verify neither is listed. If they are, just uncheck them and click ok (you don't need to restart at this point). The nice thing about msconfig as opposed to making changes in the registry is that changes can always be reverted at a later time.
