I have the 2.0 RC version on my SuSE desktop... It's OK, not quite where MS Office is, but it's getting closer and closer.

I still have to keep MS Office installed to ensure that things work right when I send them to folks, but I really do like OpenOffice. I think it is a great set of tools.

I did away with MSOffice about a year ago and haven't looked back. I used OpenOffice to recover people's "lost" MS files all the time, that usually turns them on to OOo.

I have been in love with OOo for almost as long as it has been around, even during the tough times... ahhh...

Anyway, I am glad to see the inclusion of BASE in this release. I remember when it moved from Star Office to OOo, it became ridiculously difficult to manage an "Access" style database with it, and I subsequently stabilized all of my production in MS Office, while keeping OOo around like a forgotten mistress that you visit from time to time when you need to refresh a few old positions... But, it now appears that with BASE, I will be able to return to my aforementioned mistress, and promote her to the Woman of the house, Office will have to abdicate...

I prefer Open Office over MS Office. I found MS Office to act funny when I tired to put more than a couple of images on a page. For my need Open Office does everything I need.
