Windows Functions Arent't Working

Monday, September 19, 2005 by Edivion | Discussion: Stardock Support General

Dear Stardock employee,

I have installed Object Desktop for a long time. I love it but I have one problem. Some Windows functions aren't working anymore like the search function, Internet Explorer (some webpages)and the useraccounts (configuring them). Beside the Windows functions some other programs aren't working as well.

I have also installed ThinkDesk.

I hope you have a solution.

Kind regards

Edwin Meijer

Not to be rude but all you said was "it's broken". More information can only help to find the problem.

Thanks for your reaction. I give you a sample. When I go to my Windows Start menu and I click on the search button it opens but I only see the background I can not enter any search terms. And nothing on it.

If this isn't clear I will post a screenshot later!!!

Thanks anyway

No it doesn't.

I have even unloaded all Stardock products and stopped all the Stardock related processes. I think some Windows parts are broken. Mayby you know if reinstalling the Microsoft Windows Script will help???

Thnaks anyway

Are you running Norton AV or McAffee or some other script blocking program?

Check this out and there are other posts on the subject as well...

Norton and McAffee block some of the script functions of some stardock apps and they are the same scripts involved with Windows Search system restore etc.

Disable Norton's ScriptBlocking.
