Can't Register

Been trying since March

Sunday, September 11, 2005 by Damilee | Discussion: DesktopX

For some odd reason I can't register my DesktopX3 with Stardock Central. I copy the registration key exactly from the email sent from Stardock. I don't get any extra area in the copy and paste it directly into registration key box in Stardock Central and still if gives me a message that my registration code is invalid. I can't get any updates if I'm not registered. So, if anyone can help me, I sure would appreciated it.

Are you using the same email address that you used the first time you registered?

I have had a problem like that with other products.  What I ended up doing was to type it in.

You might check and make sure and numbers lock isn't on, and that caps are not locked in.

You could also request a registration number look-up just to re-verify that you are using the right number.  It has been a long time since I registered something.... but when I did I remember I was trying the wrong number for some reason.

If nothing else works you can contact [email protected].  They are friendly folk.

Changing servers might help.

You should have no problems copying/pasting serial numbers. Exactly what error message are you getting?

If you continue to have problems, please email me directly with your account details and DX3 serial number. I will try it here and see what is wrong.

Have you made sure you are not copying any "transparent" characters, like space or linebreak?

I copied and pasted it exactly as it was on the e-mail. I did a did a look-up (several times) and always get the same number that appears to be invalid. Here is exactly what the error message says: The serial number you have entered is invalid. Please make sure the information you have entered matches exactly from your order e-mail. Use the look-up Serial Number button to resend your account information to the email address you ordered under.
This leads me back to where I'm at. Un-Registered.

Is it DesktopX Run-Time, Standard, or Pro? Stardock Central has a problem with DX Pro serials.

Well, I got an answer: Hello, Damilee. I'm afraid you can't use Stardock Central
to update the Runtime client at this time. Please use
the standalone download link from below to install that.

Soooo...I guess that answers that. Thanks for all your help and concern. I do appreciate it. You guys rock!!!
