Disable

Monday, July 25, 2005 by Patokg | Discussion: OS Customization

Hi, I'm really new in Customization Softwarem I'm using ObjectDock and WindowsBlinds and I would like to know if it is posible to create a link or a Hotkey to disable/enable both applications at the same time. The reason for this is that I'm a gamer, and I would like to use the whole potential of my PC while I'm playing. Thanx

I believe there is a docklet for object dock that will quit it when you go to full screen mode for games etc.

As for windowblinds, it will probably actually enhance your gaming experience. WBlinds.dll is more efficient at displaying the GUI than the uxtheme.dll skinning engine. Thats why Alienware ships many of their PC's with WindowBlinds pre-installed.

Yup, as CerebroJD, you can pretty much safely leave WB running while playing. I saw some benchmark results from various systems running WB and games, in nearly all the cases, the FPS was higher with WB on. Don't have the link here unfortunatly, it's on my computer over in England.

Thanx both of you, but what about ObjectDock, does anyone know the name of that docklet?

Right-click dock > Add Entry > New 'Quit Dock' Entry.
