Widgets Crash

Sunday, June 19, 2005 by kayan17 | Discussion: DesktopX

Hi,

i have a problem with my desktop x widgets. from the one day to the other some don`t probably work anymore. For example, my aero weather just shows me one day without the weather icon and the rest is plain. Or the imagine clock has no triggers anymore. Could anybody help me with this?

I read some posts that said the last version of Desktop X was just really buggy. They just moved to a bigger office, but I keep looking for the next update.

For some dumb reason I put Windows SP2 back on, and things got really bad. I went to the Microsoft page and downloaded Direct X, & I just keep re-installing it when the widgets go wacky. I was looking at AOL, and it attempted to put McAfee virusscan on here for me. That really messed things up.

This is just my 2nd month of messing around with DX.

if you are running WinXP, close all things DX and go here: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX and clear out all the caches there. Your widgets should start up correctly this time.
