delete trash-can-icon?

I have just one icon left on my desktop since installing objectdock. It's the win-xp trah can. Could I delete this one. Thanks so far.

There are other ways to do this, but I have always found the easiest, safest way is to download TweakUI (just do an internet search for it). It is a PowerToy for Windows XP. In it is a section called 'Desktop'. Just head there and you can take the Recycle Bin right off.
