Problems with reverting to Windows XP default...

Everything looks flat!

Thursday, May 19, 2005 by Simthumb | Discussion: ObjectBar

I was tired of my scrollbars staying un-skinned (since I have the free version) so I tried to revert back to the Windows XP default theme but now everything looks flat! I mean, I have the blue taskbar, the skinned scrollbars, everything, but it looks so...so...flat. (see http://www.sunrizesimz.com/clip_image002.jpg) I've double checked all my settings, but I am baffled. Someone please help!

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Visual Effects

Is the last option checked?

It looks like the XP default to me. You just got used to WB.

Um.. Yes, thats what my brand new computer that no Stardock software has touched looks like.

The shadows, are you talking about that?

If so, then:

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Visual Effects

And make sure 'shadow' options are checked.
