DesktopX 3 + Mcafee = serious issues

ever sinse i installed the new desktopX my mcafee professional is going nuts.
i get a script warning everytime i load a new object / widget (now desktopX closes itself when i try to load a widget thru the interface) and 9 times out of 10 when i reboot or turn on my machine everything loads but my startbar (default windows XP startbar systray and everything inbetween) is blued out and mouse over says its still thinking (for over an hour i left it run)
it all loads fine as soon as a open taskmanager and click shutdown then restart. only problem is it wont boot right when it comes back on till i change something in the boot sequence. (selective start-up or something)
i REALLY like this new version but if this keeps up im going to have to pull it out cause this is just too much to deal with when rebooting.

im not using thier firewall. i use the XP firewall. its part of the virus scanner.

Oh! The same holds true for any Mcafee or Norton prog. Just a suggestion, but the free version of Zone alarm would be better than the one that came with XP. When I bought my computer it already had Norton Anti-virus on it. It was the first thing I removed. Also I know several people who have had to Re-install windows or get a new computer because Mcafee and Norton let them get a bug, and then could'nt get rid of it. An excellent allternative is AVG7 by Grisoft. Even the free version of that is better. It will prevent you from getting a bug in the first place, via a warning about a malicious site you are attempting to enter. I have had AVG for years and No bugs. Sorry 'bout the first post, it is still early in the am!

Or you could just go into the "Configure VirusScan Options" panel, select the "ActiveShield" tab, click the "Advanced" button, select the "ScriptStopper" tab, and disable ScriptStopper. Problem Solved. 
I do however, wish that McAfee would recognize that not every script that tries to create, copy, or delete files or access the registry is automatically malicious.

I have never used Mcafee, I have always used Norton without issue - but that is beside the point.
If Mcafee offers an option to "allow script", this is what you should use. Norton gives a warning when DesktopX is first run, and the user then has a few options: "Block script", "Allow script once", "Allow script".
I would either find this option in the program, or save the theme, then delete your DesktopX cache (found at "C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder). After deleting cache, start DesktopX to hopefully invoke the warning message - and look for an option or link to options to allow script.

Sadly, McAfee only offers "Allow script once." There is no option to allow a given script forever. Because of this I had to do what solvent suggested and disable ScriptStopper.
But hey, at least the McAfee marketing guys came up with the great name. That is far more important than features.
