naked wallpapers

a seperate category perhaps??

Thursday, January 27, 2005 by _Of_Gilead | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

Well, as a mom I want to ask that you get rid of all the very naked chics appearing in the wallpaper section...but as a wincustomise junkie I understand and appreciate that stardock and wincustomise allow us to be creative and to customise our computers however we all dang well please. So, I propose a compromise: Can you make a seperate category altogether for that kind of thing so that those of us who don't wish to see it (or for any of our family or children to see it) don't have to as we browse the wallpapers? Naked Wallpapers. The new category, eh?

I admit I don't frequent the "walls" but I didn't think actual full frontal nudity was ever on display here.
However as with most things on the internet I believe parents should be involved and help guide their children where it is safe for them to go.
If you ever take your children to see an art museum you'd see quite a lot of display of frontal nudity in statues and pictures for example. So those are ok and walls are not?
Some might find it objectionable while others may not. Too often I find these days that parents don't want to parent, they want the government (or other entities) to help them control their kids or educate their kids. I am a parent and I just feel it is my duty to keep them informed and protect them from what I feel they aren't ready to see yet.
I don't believe one or two examples out of the thousands of walls really constitutes a problem, but certainly think the moderators should be careful what they let through as full frontal is beyond PG-13.

It is certainly not my intention to offend anyone. I do not view WinCustomize as an "art" site if you will, and I respect and agree with the TOS guidelines. I viewed this image an illustration or cartoon piece and actually thought the pose and the size of the figure would make it unoffensive to anyone. I suppose all would be well if the figure was a male, but that is for another discussion. No need for controversy, I will simply not go down this road in the future on this site. Heck, this is supposed to be fun , right?

kenwas, if you noticed many of us don't care about it, it wasn't that bad. Plus if you noticed, many didn't even notice it. Yea, if you look at the wall, the dragon is the main target. That's why it passed, Plus you didn't have her bottomless Heck, if you want to see worse, watch Heavy Metal

I agree with Nightain ........ It is like openning a door ...

Kenwas .... try to understand that they are NOT against you, they are against the Nudity which you have shown. I personally not effected with it but It could lead to a more harmfull things. You can be taken an example that he has been allowed for such wallpaper why not we.

Leaving off isn't the thing. They love you, they love your artwork. Try to get to them instead of running away.

Once I had cretisized Boxxi on one of his Screenie .... yet he is one of the most respectable to me.

(Edited to change Porn with Nudity)

The kenwas wall is definitely not porn. Porn, written or visual has only one purpose....to arouse sexual desire in the person that finds the subject as such.

kenwas's recent image was approved as the 'nudity' was particularly small/insignificant....and was not what is referred to as 'full-frontal'...that needs must include male/female genital areas.  Breasts in themselves constitute 'topless', not 'full-frontal'.

There are other depictions of varying degrees of 'nudity' in the wall section, but none is/has been deemed 'pornographic' by those whose responsibility is to moderate site content.  The walls that end up on the 'cutting-room floor' that do not see the light of day here are very definitely not suitable and are clear candidates for removal.

Wincustomize.com is a better place for all thanks to this moderation...

Citizen MaffsterIzUnPopular considering your age....I'd suggest you moderate your comments [rather than have the site Admin do so for you]...as 13 is the requirement to be a member here.

Kenwas, do what you do best and let Jafo and the other admins decide if it will be moderated. That wall, without the vulnerability of the lady (made more vulnerable by the no clothes thing) is not the same. Keep up the Great Art and don't change a thing.

Hey people the suggestion is good. If this site were to add a section for "naked" wallpapers it would be easier for people like me to find them and use them. For the people that dont like nudity they can avoid the " naked " section.

I respectfully disagree (if you're serious). Some great art has a bit of Nudity that souldn't be put in with a mass of peak-a-boo shots of Paris Hilton. Just my opinion.

How about setting up a seperate board for anything that could be deemed as questionable?

Just for the record, I agree. Wincustomise is professional and clean. That's what made me question the sudden "topless" nudity in the first place.

I don't agree with it, but I respect the opinions of other members...well, at least most of them.

Kenwas, your work is awesome. If it was up to a vote, I'd vote no for that particular post, but I do hope you continue your work and your posts.

Thanks everyone for all your comments...again, at least for most of them.

May wincustomise live long and prosper...and stay cool.

Latin...a photograph, drawing, painting, 3D computer generation are ALL not 'real women'.

The issue is with the depiction/representation....and also context.

'nudity' relates to the depiction/instance of the unclothed human form, [that includes males, btw]

There's an example of 'nudity'....sufficiently subtle not to be an issue...
