Speaking about Windows, after a possible update, I have noticed my taskbar flyout Calendar no longer has the bottom part where you can see any appointments that you have, along with weather info. Unless I changed a setting somehow accidentally. I have tinkered with the settings and cannot bring it back to what it was. Curious. I could be wrong but I think Microsoft did something to mess it up. I don't like it. But then that's Microsoft for you. I am on Windows 10 22H2

You didn't change anything, Microsoft made this change. It has been this way in Windows 11 for quite a while and they just changed it in Windows 10 on August Patch Tuesday. They also added a clock at the top. Microsoft, got'a love 'em!

This is just a concept video, but Microsoft is out of control.

I got a email this morning from Microsoft. Out of curiosity I go over the terms of service a little bit and I find this item: "To the extent necessary to provide the Services to you and others, to protect you and the Services, and to improve Microsoft products and services, you grant to Microsoft a worldwide and royalty-free intellectual property license to use Your Content, for example, to make copies of, retain, transmit, reformat, display, and distribute....:

Out of control indeed. I might want to stop  using Bing, CoPilot, or any MS stuff I don't really need. Other than Windows 10 22H2. I wonder if Windows 12 is the release that kills skinning it once and for all, but then maybe there are always workarounds and hacks.

Microsoft is moving towards a model where the mouse and keyboard become a thing of the past. They believe the future of Windows will be users communicating and controlling their PC's by talking with them (like on Star Trek). They hope to achieve this by 2030.

I'm with you. I am hoping to remain on Windows 11 - 23H2 for as long as I can. This is assuming 0Patch picks it up once it reaches End of Service in October. If they don't, I will have to install Windows 10 and a subscription to 0Patch. As long as I don't upgrade any software to a version that's no longer compatible with 23H2 I'll be okay.

Jafo is still running Windows 7 on at least one PC with 0Patch.

I am reminded of a scene from Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home.

Scotty sits down in front of a desktop PC like they had back in the 80's and says: "Computer"

I think it is Dr. McCoy who tells Scotty that he needs to use the mouse and Scotty says: "How quaint!"
