Hey, Jim. If it's at the point where surgery is necessary, there are many great vascular surgeons and centers...and many treatment choices as daiwa said...you've got everyone's good thoughts and prayers, mine included.

So, what is happening?
Ok, I have been sick for weeks, kept ignoring it, thinking it's just allergies. Finally I decide to go the the doctor to get some help. A lung xray and some discussion said I had a bacterial lung infection, for which I am being treated.
That xray also showed an aortic aneurysm way up near my heart. Cardiologist is next move.

My wife has temporarily lost half her bring home pay, 1400 per month loss, so even though the Dr said no work, I have to work as long as I can. Fortunately, running a register at a gas station isn't grueling work.

Can't offer specific medical advice but if it were me, consultation with a cardiothoracic surgeon should be arranged soon. There's enlargement (ectasia) and then there's aneurysm. Matter of degree but the distinction is important. Wishing all the best for you.

I pray God have Grace and Mercy for Jim's situation. Thanks.

Seeing my PCP at 9 am tomorrow, he will send me to a cardiologist. We shall see. As for the swab testing/panel, labs tested negative for everything, yet I am sick for 3 weeks.
Go figure.

Guys, I'm having an ultrasound this afternoon to look at the aorta.
Steroids, inhaler, etc, etc. Human Parainfluenza is the diagnosis on the lung infection.

Good luck Jim. I was recently diagnosed with an enlarged Aorta and spinal stenosis. Aging is impacted by what we accumulate over the years. I am taking a statin now, blood pressure medication, and a muscle relaxant. I have also lost 30 lbs.
I see a neurosurgeon this week.
I plan on living for many years longer because I really enjoying annoying people.
