Ooooouch. Sorry to hear that. I know it can drive you up the wall sometimes, dealing with the pain.
I've been a press operator for 22 years. 22 years of lifting 50 pound reams of paper in and out of presses. 22 years of bending at the knees to lift. They told us that it saves your back, but they neglected to tell us it blows out the knees.
All the joints are starting to break down. I'm no stranger to the aching hips and legs and feet. Sometimes, even my back. I'm already at the maximum dosage of Advil for each day. Couple more years and I'll have to seriously consider giving it up for a desk job. A lot less money, but a lot less stress on the body.
I feel for you Wise. I know how much the pain can drive one temporarily crazy.

I Know exactly what your going thru. Same pains that I have I used Advil at 4 times the dose. Then Vioxx and now I'am on Celebrex. That one seems to help the back and hip. If you have Med. Insurance you might try Celebrex. It's for arthritis. 20 years in the Army and ten at the post office is taking it's toll. 2 more years and I can take an early retirement, which I will.

Oh man, sounds like you know all the good pain killers. For my arthritis (mainly in my fingers and elbows) I take Entrophen. Works ok for now, but I know eventually I'll need something stronger.
I wish I could take an early retirement. Our Armed Forces allows for retirement at 50 with full pension. (and it's a very good pension) Unfortunately, I never was in the Army. So, with my present job, I'm gonna have to wait until I'm at least 60.

this is a great thread! read about some GREAT old music -- LadyWolf croons over andy willians -- and learned a little about some of you and your talents! sounds like we have some very talented folks out there, in areas other than skinning -- very cool 
and wise, i cannot imagine doing the walking that you do -- it would kill me! i'm a full-time paralegal, so the only exercise i get is yelling at my boss -- lol. anyway, i enjoyed this thread

Our services it's 50% at 20 yrs and 75% at 30 yrs. Cannot live on it but with the P.O. early retirement check I'll be able to manage until I get to 62. Then I can get early social security. Then everything will be fine. I just want to retire with most of my body parts still working.(if not all)

LadyWolf, that goes to the original question that started this thread. What does Wise create? He creates an atmosphere in which pleasent and intelligent conversations can take place. He is always ready to discuss anything, and probably more important, he is always ready to listen to everyone's point of view. Believe me, that is a great gift in itself.

Gotta go for a while. I'm ripping up bathroom tiles today. Putting in new tub/shower and then retiling. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of the weekend. (not much chance of that.)

LadyWolf- The wife was a legal sec. for 20+ years. Love Andy Williams. Have a few of his greatest hit CD's. Motion- I don't know what to say. I try to be helpful.Only a high school grad. but have been all over the world and seen a lot so I try to impart some of that knowledge to who ever wants it.

Wise - motion and yourself were talking about aches and pains...Well i have bad ankles. I work in a warehouse, shipping, recieving, forklift, inventory, pulling orders, that kind of stuff. Three years ago i got a nasty sprain on my right ankle. Instead of taking the four to six weeks to let it heal, i clenched my teeth and went back to work after three days. I guess using my left foot to carry the load (i'm a big boy for my size) has made that one bad too. The hardest days for me are monday and tuesday because taking the weekend off only makes it worse when i go back to work.
If it were possible to go back in time to change things, this would be the only thing i would change in my life. I have made some poor choices in life, but this is the one i wish i could have back.

elvee-Those painfel hurts that you get when your younger and heal up do not go away. Later in life they will all comeback to haunt you. You will feel them all. So try not to mess anything up. Wife had to make copies of files(when none yere needed) just so they could charge them again.
