Well, it just kind of seemed that way guys, sorry if I overreacted. It's just that comments get posted in threads that have nothing to do with the initial post and things go off subject it seems.

okay, I'd like to see all uploads posted without any moderators initial rating, like all blinds start out with 0 stars. Let those that download rate the blind rather than someone whom might be having a bad hair day or whatever, especially when that initial rating carries so much weight.

back on track; blinds have a halflife, a blind that is three months and getting less than 50 downloads/day should not, all of sudden, jump up to over 10,000 downloads in one day. I mean seriously, doesn't this warrant a closer look?

"Aw geez this s--t again."  I would be very disheartened to hear my complaint handled in such a way.  Wincustomize should be ready and energized to do their job after a nice vacation.     

How about doing away with the ratings and download counts altogether?

Wouldn't that kinda level the playing board?  Then there should be no complaints?

It's possible that some use programs or scripts to increase the number of downloads and then no one - theoretically - can not do anything (some programs/scripts use proxies).

If an upload is made public with a '0' rating it is not visible at all to the public..... hence the ratings being applied by the Moderators...

Maybe if somebody puts up a new WinStep theme, Docks, Widgets/Gadgets, etc for it later?  That thought crossed my mind, don't really know of course, choosing to remain blissfully ignorant.

I could do without the ratings but don't think they should go away and really, download counts provide feedback, some competitiveness amongst skinners and adds to the enjoyment of the overall experience. If the counts are not accurate it would take all of that away, bummer.

could be, I don't know either but those usually follow fairly quickly.

I  think vamps best bet is to take her Euphoria wb off wc and put it back on, that should sort her prob out,, as she said thats her only wb that has the prob ,i just checked her blinds out and that one has 4062 downloads today and her others are very low about right,,

actually it haas been across the board, a lot of what appears to be jacked up numbers, mine, yours, kitty's, andy's and others and not just limited to WB's.

ok i see..iv just checked every gallery and i can only see one today (Euphoria) that has a lot of downloads...i dont check downloads very often myself so iv missed this glitch ,,ill check downloads again a bit later to see if enyone elss as got a large number of downloads,,,

The stats do appear quite odd. Glad someone is looking

at the moment, they look pretty real and stable. This has been brewing for a few months, occasionally spilling over in the forums.

I'm pretty sure the last time I made a comment about "ratings-complaints-threads" it was along the lines of...."next person who makes an issue of it gets booted off the site"....

We ONLY get these on days ending in 'y'.... and yet, no matter how many times they arise the system remains and will remain.

If you wish a site without ratings/moderators/stats/whatever you are FREE to create your own.
