Voodoo - WIP
Tuesday, September 4, 2012 by k10w3 | Discussion: Sneak Previews
Since I'm pretty much finished with my GUIC submission (still sitting on it, giving myself some time to make sure all things are perfect), I've been putting my creative juices towards my Halloween desktop, which is my favorite skin to create.
You know how some skins just seem to build themselves, and others are kind of an agonizing frustration? This one is an agonizing frustration. Something's just not right, and no matter how many times I look at it and change things, it's not feeling like it's working, (maybe it's cursed?) so I thought I would post a WIP thread and get some help from the community.
Give me your thoughts on what needs to change.

Karen, your initial colors were the green and red, and you liked it and so do several other people. I say go with your initial colors because it is what you started with and your initial vision on how the skin should look, what others think is basically irrelevant, you are the designer, not them. Make yourself happy.

I agree with LightStar and RedneckDude. I think if we look back on are first choices, they usually are the correct ones. Go for it.

Oh guys, guys, guys...I'm too much of a narcissist to do anything that doesn't make me happy. I started out with an idea, I ran with it, got to a certain point and wanted to trash it, but I couldn't put my finger on why. I appreciate the community's input--it gives me fresh perspective. Regardless of the input, I'll definitely do what I want to (I'm really not that much of a giver). I'm liking it better with less color, and more crispness. Trust me...this is going to be good.

Oh this is awesome. Looking forward to this one, and not just for Halloween. This'll be a year round thing for this guy.
Just for the record you should wear the title "master skinner". Your stuff is phenomenal.

That's very kind of you to say, and maybe someday -- for right now, I'm just happy to be able to have so much fun creating skins and having others enjoy them, as well.
