Mobile HomeScreen Shots

Why should PC's have all the fun?

Tuesday, January 3, 2012 by elvee | Discussion: Mobile Tech

So yeah, why should PC's have all the screen shot fun?

  • Windows Mobile
  • iOS
  • Android
  • RIM
  • webOS
Both phones and tablets. I think it would be fun to see what people are sporting on their mobile devices.

Please try to keep it 'clean' and it might be helpful to include links to apps and widgets you use.

Nope.
We use/install skinnable applications (apps), just like we do on the PC.

Elvee is using the ADWLauncher EX.
I use GO Launcher EX.

Just enter the Market and search for 'launcher', and take your pick.

I switch between LauncherPro Plus, ADWLauncher EX and Go Launcher EX. They are all good in there own way.

I prefer LauncherPro Plus. To me it seems to run smoother than the other two. Go Launcher feels like it bogs my phone down a little and ADW Sometimes force closes.

Too lazy to post a pic, but I have the Pipboy 3000 skin.

RND:  Powre button plus middle button takes a screenshot.

If you are you are using a TouchPad and are not using a wireless keyboard and teh TouchStone you are missing out.  So awesome.  [If you are not using a bluetooth keyboard you should at least be using the keyboard mod that puts arrow keys on the virtual keyboard to move around with.  Makes the TP much less painful.]

I wish there were more themes for the TouchPad.  There is one called Glass but it's not very different and it doesn't look like many folks are making them.  If I find out how, will you take a shot at making one?

The app catalog is still pretty weak but the homebrew market (preware) seems to be picking up.

Those are nice, I guess once you start skinning things, it's hard to stop.   Still, it's far more phone than I need. I'm sticking with my "DumbPhone" since we can communicate on the same level. I want it to make phone calls, it wants to be a telephone.

theme-manager-

What a great idea! I wish I had a working theme manager for my PC.

This is a Go Launcher EX theme called Glow Legacy by Mariux.

Of all the launchers out there Go Launcher is IMO the most customizable. All the essential widgets are available and because Go Launcher makes replaceble apps you can skin almost all of the UI including the phone dialer, contacts and lock screen. No need for root and it is free to boot!

I am starting to sound like I am trying to sell a product here...lol....anyway I recommend giving it a try.

Well it appears that FireFox for Android works here on the forum. I have tried all of the major browsers in the market. I wish it would work for Dolphin HD.

Well anyway for those interested...

Video isn't working well, intermittently having lines through the video.
