Object Dock...objects

Tuesday, September 2, 2003 by ama02 | Discussion: Stardock Software

I just installed OD, and find it's a fun utility but I'd like to create some icons and a docking bar or two.

My questions are:
- what size should the icons and bars be?
- how do I add the bars to the current selections?
- to add a new object (program) to the dock, do I just drag/drop the .exe file or a shortcut?

Thanks for your patience!

Icons should be at least 192x192. They don't have to be in the ico format, as png works quite nicely.

- how do I add the bars to the current selections?

Bars (backgrounds) go in the Backgrounds folder in the ObjectDock directory.

- to add a new object (program) to the dock, do I just drag/drop the .exe file or a shortcut?

That's one way to do it.

Thanks Koasati ... is there a certain size to make the background, or will OD stretch it?

I appreciate your help.

Look in the Backgrounds folder, and see what size(s) are normally used...... and yes they are stretched, or maybe tiled... (not sure on that)

argh!! Just when I thought I had everything figured out!

I took a look at various background .ini files, and pretty much get the jist of it...however, I don't understand what "TileVCenter" and "TileCenter" are, and what the settings (0,1) represent.
I looked through the readme files but can't find information on this...could someone help please?
Thanks in advance!

0 and 1 just mean enabled or disabled. These settings determine how the image is enlarged or reduced to different sizes.(rather than just pure stretching which dosnt work well sometimes)
