Producing a browser that ads Skinhit's head to all ads is NOT reinventing the web.

What Night Train said...
What PoSmedley said...
What I said...Don't tell Bob Dole. He invented the web don't forget. He may cry then enlist it in his fight to stop global warming. Resistance is futile.

It wasn't Dole, it was Al Gore.
Understanding Joyce is all but impossible.

Downloaded Opera this morning.
Firefox may be going bye-bye.
This is nice. I have been waiting a long time for this. It has the best of a few apps and extensions that I like without all the excess crap I don't want and it's all in one browser. I've barely looked around, but it it seems very easy to use and that's something for me. I even found a portable version for my USB.

I knew it was one of them...oh well
I'm gonna have to try it.

It's quite nice.
- I have tried Seamonkey because of the email intergration. But Seamonkey is so far behind and clumsy. Opera's email is very nice.
- I like the FF GSpace add-on, Opera Unite's is even better with the file sharing.
- The music/audio sharing that WInamp offers- Opera Unites is faster loading and it's a hell of a lot smoother.
- The lounge for chat is nice and the other folks do NOT need to be on Opera to chat nor do they need IRC.
- The web server is still a bit beyond me, but looks very interesting. No php support yet and I am not sure how you run a website from your desktop but I am still looking.
- You have photosharing (1gb limit if I am reading it correctly)
- Blogging
- It has all the regular features of FF that I like.
The only thing I miss is the add-ons, which I am over addicted to to begin with. At first glance, I don't much care for the Opera Widgets (which seems to be there version of add-ons)
And it looks like a lot more. Plus the potential to build more Unite Apps in html/java/flash. I just like that it's all in one and very clean and easy. Nice interface, nice graphics, The speed is nice to. I had only two overload messages, I guess due to everyone downloading and stuff. I have tried Flock but I don't use ALL the social services they promote and can't stand seeing all the buttons and crap for them if I don't use them. I hate clutter. This seems to offer the best of a lot of different apps and browsers.
I have to say, after being a FF fan from the very start, I am fast becoming an Opera fan.

Sorry, but not impressed, just another source for illegal distribution of files.

Well, I too, would miss those add-ons. I used Opera years ago, for about two months. It was so hard to get a spell checker installed, or QuikTime to work, I gave up. I like the newest FF, so I'll wait and see what you all think of Opera before jumping on it again.

I've only been touting it for months. No one listens.

So have I. I think the first one I had was 9.3. It's always been the fastest browser for me. The only problem I've had with it, is paying bills online, as most of them don't recognize Opera, and all prefer IE.

It all depends on who's using it.
