Again, uploading issues
Friday, March 20, 2009 by gmc2 | Discussion: Stardock Support General
I'm attempting to make a change to an existing blind, but I'm getting a no go. I usually use a different address to upload blinds but to make changes it seems that I'm at the mercy of whatever default addresses are enforced.

top address is where I'm taken to start my edit process and I already know that upload2 is chronically screwed up and has been for some time. the bottom path is where the upload which still leaves me in the upload2 bottomless pit of dispair.
so I guess there are two parts to the question; 1) what is up with upload2 and 2) should I just resubmit the blind from scratch on the other upload path.

uhm, at least safari appears to support you and you do not support IE6 and haven't for some time.

Murex,
During your last upload attempt, did you get the same error page that you were seeing before? If not, and it suggested to try again later, could you try again?
Thanks,
Dean

That fixed my ability to edit. The preview video I wanted to upload went fine. Thank you! ![]()
If it matters, while it was uploading the counter was all over the place...it would count up, go to zero and then shoot back up to where it should have been. It did this the entire time it was uploading.
Now I need to try uploading something large.

The first SS is the window I have been getting all along. The second SS is what I am getting now after you said there was an update. I get the same errors with both IE7 and firefox. The version of flash that I am using is 9r16

Sorry it's the other way around. The first image is what I am getting now. It gets to that point and stays there. I have left it for a half an hour nothing ever happens..

I am running the latest of FF, IE, and Flock.
I HAD Flash 10, but it would not allow me to change my avatar here. I went back to 9. Some short time after, like an idiot, I allowed Flash to update to 10.
When I was unable to edit my skin, I tried to back to Flash 9, but apparently the site wasn't having it this time. I even downloaded Adobe's Flash uninstaller and removed all Flash, with all browsers and anything that uses Flash shut down. Installed Flash 9 and still nothing.
Archived Flash Players available for testing purposes
I can still upload NEW work, just unable to edit stuff already in my gallery. Currently have the most recent version of Flash 10 installed.

I was unable to successfully upload a 40 mb dream.
It uploaded but never went past this screen to the upload complete page.

One thing to note...While the overall upload never completed, this was the best I have gotten a 40 mb dream to upload since December.
Since I started having trouble uploading dreams larger than 28mb back in December, the progress meter never moved off of zero. Now it moves off of zero and goes to 100 percent...it just does not flip to the upload complete page.

Thanks for the info PO... I have done the same thing. I am tired of uninstalling and reinstalling flash. Can't edit can't upload IE7 hangs up all the time (only when trying to access WC) I know they are updating and having problems but this is just going on to long.

Ok, Dean updated another build and it is working good for me, but I need some others that were having problems to test. Please try again and post results, issues, etc.
Thanks!

If I use this address https://www.wincustomize.com/upload2.aspx it says the upload failed.
If i use this address https://www.wincustomize.com/upload.aspx I get this
Please allow approximately 5 days for it to show up, as all entries are reviewed before being publically available.
Note: Please give credit where credit is due if you have based your skin off the work of others. But it never shows up in moderation

Murex,
Thank you for your help so far.
We made another change that hopefully will fix your problem. There was specifically a problem with the Xion library when uploading. If you have a chance, could you give it another try?

When I try to upload a 40mb dream via the upload link it appears to upload and I get the following message.

When I tried to upload the same 40mb dream via the upload2 link and I goes through and says it completes and then I get a failed screen. The first screen is right before it completed uploading and the second is the failed message I get. These were both uploaded via Firefox.

Failed message

Edit: I tried again at 7:30 pm EST and it uploaded fine. ![]()

A new update just went up that hopefully will take care of the main issue at www.wincustomize.com/upload2.aspx that you guys have been seeing. Could you please give it a try and let us know?
Murex,
The reason I asked about the url is that there are only two places to upload to WinCustomize. As you are mentioning three, I was wondering what that other url was.
