Locking sidebar(s) in XP?
Saturday, February 21, 2009 by spinal | Discussion: Windows XP
This is going to be difficult to word... Quite recently, it seems that nothing is able to restrict the area of my desktop. That is, I have tried a veriety of sidebars and they fail to reserve their part of the screen, maximized windows no longer maximize to their edge, but rather fully under or over them
. The only way I can remedy the problem, is to switch resolution a couple of times, which is quite irritating. I am using XP home with sp3, I also have running object dock (free version) fences and windowblinds 6.
Can anyone think of a remedy for this situation?
Thanks.

I've tried Thoosje sidebar, Desktop sidebar, Google sidebar, I even tried the vista sidebar that someone ported/hacked to xp. Neither of them will reserve their own screen space. I have tried adjusting the display settings in each of them, but like I said, the only thing that works is changing my screen resolution, which I really don't want to do every time I start windows.

What sidebars are you using?
I've used Desktop Sidebar before and I though it had opitions as to where it would reside, (normal, desktop, always on top and autohide).
