btw how do you like the cubes on the startmenu kinda makes it hard to concentrate on what you are doing haha but the look cool anyway
The cubes are awesome, and as for hard to concentrate...that's just a fact of my life anymore. When I get health insurance I'm going to ask a doctor about maybe getting some Ritalin or something. The older I get, the shorter my attention span seems to become.

I tried it on xp last night, and decided to wait until I could see it on Vista, since that's how you built it.
Now that I've seen it on Vista, I have to agree about the dark on dark text, particularly in the menus. Also, the light gray text on dark gray background in the navigation bar has a nice contrast, until you mouseover the nav bar--then the nav bar becomes a brighter gray, and the text gets lost.
I'll try it again on xp tonight and let you know what I find there.

I wholly agree. Nice job on the animation, but I think it detracts from the skin, IMO.

My updated desktop (with some personal modifications to the Xion media player -- I added the title bar from the skin to the top of TriNity).

[quote]Systemtray icons should not change size... neither quicklaunch... they stay the same witchever skin you use:)[/quote
Actually they will get resized if text\content margins aren't set correctly accross the board for all taskbar elements.

Here's the latest and greatest. I notice that you changed the taskbar buttons. Now it's just a tiny green egg at the top of the buttons. That's so modern! I truly love the start button. I could just turn on some trance music, mouse over the button and watch the animation until I'm hypnotized . ![]()

Testing version 3 on xp now.
The contrast in the skin is much better now; I've not seen anything that is absolutely unreadable. Some parts still much too dark IMO, though.
The gripper pattern on the scrollbar dragbar (sorry--don't know the technical term) has some magic pink showing through.
Don't know why, but the start menu animation doesn't show up on my xp machine. It does on Vista, though.
More opinion: Not too crazy about the little things that pop-up when you mouseover a window close/minimize/restore button, or on the regular push buttons. I think the window buttons are fine as they are without the pop-up thingys, and the regular push buttons could have that ornamental doohickey on them all the time...
Coming along nicely, me thinks! ![]()

That happened when I was testing, too, but I opened the skin in Skin Studio 6, went to Edit Controls, Edit Scroll bars, Arrows, and checked the boxes for this image has transparent parts and this image has alpha channel, and the pink disappeared. There is no actual magic pink IN the image itself....not sure where that pink is coming from, but with those boxes checked it goes away.

Good tip. I only took a quick, casual look. ![]()

There is 2 ways to do the srollbar gripper.. thru the arrow pic or the glyph pic... the magic pink shines thru the arrow pic... and i use a glyph on there gonne check if those boxes are checked... mabye ive missed it because i havent seen any pink on my system at any time...
the quick fix is to re-apply the skin then it should go away....
dont know what to do about that.. ![]()
Sooo....cool taskbar buttons!
Heh running out of screen? time to get a bigger screen
![]()
pop up? dont they pop down? or didnt i send you the updated version hmmm...
The thingys on the pushbuttons cant stay on at all times it will look bad and clipping will appear on really small buttons like the "..." button in sks.. when its just mouseover you wont notice it as much... but ill look over it and think about a redesign because they are a bit buggy and sticks on buttons even when you dont mouseover it....
And where do you think its to dark?
Thanks for the feedback guys...

Yes...well, wouldn't THAT be nice? Along with a new computer with updated operating system, enough of an income to pay all my bills so I could turn the ringer on my phone back on, and enough for next week's groceries would be nice, too....this is the price I pay for marrying for love instead of money. Money never was interested in me anyway, so I feel very fortunate to have married for love. Could be worse, could be worse...I could have been born a Chinese peasant woman who was forced into an arranged marriage of neither love nor money, and be dreaming of the opportunity to end my life by consuming a large quantity of pesticides.
Life is GOOD!

By the way, I don't get the animation on the start menu either. I've looked in SKS6, and I know what it's suppose to look like (AWESOME), but it doesn't translate into the applied skin. I still can't figure out why the name shows up, either. That has me totally stumped.

Yes, I got it. Pop up, pop down... you say potato, etc... ![]()
I just mean in general. And again, it's only my opinion. I'd rather have all black, or black with light, than black with dark gray. ![]()
