Impulse Version

Hi folks;
Small question here, I am using Impulse to install DesktopX Pro " Which I own " and the version I show on the right side of Impulse is 3.50.016?
Is this what everyone who has Impulse and Installing DesktopX Pro?
I ned to know for The support folks.

My Birthday is coming soon. Is there a DX 4 Pro coming in the next year?
Jim is pro worth it? I for one, like you will never try to sale anything. But sure would be nice to make a stand alone sidebar gadget for everyone. I still get requests for them but pro always looks so pricey to me.
Jim I just got an idea. Have your wife buy it for me. lol 
Me jealous. You have a supporting wife.
May be i can beg my wife for it for my Birthday. Yup sounds good to me.lol

I've pro but i cheated 
I bought it when the euro/dollars balance make it like half of his prize

This is what I was thinking, really not a bad deal.
Don, if you want to make standalones, it is well worth it. But, worth is a relative term. What seems "worth it" to me may be outrageous to you. I would love to have one of those three monitor systems, but in this economy, at this time, It is not worth it to me just to have 3 screens. My 26" HDTV will have to do...lol.

Thats what i was thinking when i say is it worth it. As it stands right now with standard versions kinda has a mind of its own. Any one using vista and Dx knows what i am talking about. Don't get me wrong. I will always use Dx. I just hope pro is a little more stable.
Jim you are right. It does make stand alone Gadgets. So if i could make some vista sidebar gadgets for people who do not have Dx. Then it is worth.
I am still begging my wife to get it for me for my Birthday!
Murex, I have done my Home work and there is no upgrade. You do have to Buy the whole package for 70$ no discounts.

Do I need to completely uninstall DX Standard prior to install of DX Pro were I to make the purchase?

Funny, that's what Wizard says too. And others I've heard. I use vista and have no problems with DX, but I do use the pro version.

Here is an example: As you know i make DX themes.
I have not made one or have been using DX for a while. maybe 2 months.
I go to load up one of my themes and My date text or digital clock do not work. I go in dx folder and those plug-ins are gone.
I made them with those plug-ins . where did they go. I have not updated or deleted them. they are just gone.
Vista and Dx also still don't let the system tray or task bar work on vista.
Jim you also might have a good rig to work on. Mine is nothing but trouble. I am sending it back to HP for the third time to fix bios, fan and motherboard and new battery. second battery thats gone bad in less than a year.
So i am sure each computer with vista work differently with Dx.

Not much has been done with DX for a long time now and no one is saying any thing about new features. Or much of any thing about DX Remember there are some issues that need to be fixed in DX
Does it not come with a year of updates?

I understand your point, Don. I was wondering why I hadn't seen any work from you lately. I have heard about this plugin disappearing act, so I started keeping a backup of them. But have never needed to use them.
As you know, I specialize in DX themes to match Windowblinds skins. So I never cared about the system tray or taskbar anyway. Personal preference, but I would rather see the windowblind skinned taskbar than to include one with my DX theme. A comment was once made about a theme I made, the person commenting was expecting a "full DX theme". I have since come to understand he meant a start button and a taskbar. I have no need for these.
You probably would be better off waiting for DX4. I do intend to make some standalone gadgets as soon as I get the bugs worked out of the Weather reverting to my location.

I currently have pro. At what point do I face the choice to renew, or keep the old version I own?
