Show/Hide fences bug
Version 0.92.024
Monday, November 3, 2008 by MrChris2000 | Discussion: Fences Beta
Hi,
I'm loving Fences so far, I've got my desktop sorted and laid out just how I like it which is great.
However I have found one bug so far; when double clicking the desktop the fence backgrounds dissappear but all the icons stay where they are. When I first installed the beta and double clicked the icons vanished as well (expected behaviour), however since snapshot-ing my layout and rebooting I've not been able to get this functionality working again.
Is this a known bug/user error?
Cheers,
Chris

also, after a reboot... can you try draggin g a few icons out of their fences, then back in, and then try again?
also if you're using deskscapes and/or windows dreamscene, does the problem not happen when they're not running?

No change after a reboot, however I have noticed that if I click and hold the left mouse button on the desktop the icons do vanish, so it becomes:
Double click desktop - Fences outlines go away, icons remain in position
Left click & hold - all icons not explictly Excluded from hiding vanish as expected.
-- if its possible to add attachments I'm happy to do a screencap movie of the problem if you need more information?

Update: I've just noticed I dont get this problem after a rebuild and the only difference is WindowFX.
It looks like - comparing two systems - that there's a setting in WFX which can interfere with the desktop show/hide.

What happens after a reboot?
