Ride The Fence
It's a good thing to do!
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 by Mirsguy | Discussion: Fences Beta
The only glitch I have found so far is that I am not able to right-click and drag out a new Fence while the RightClick program is running. When I right-click to drag out a new fence, my RightClick menu pops up. I had to unload RightClick, and then Fences worked like a charm.
It would be nice if the two could harmonize. Either way, I see this application becoming one of the greats from Stardock!

Sorry... I posted that link intending to direct you to the info site. I didn't realize you'd already signed up for it. Maybe we protest and form a picket line... ![]()

One more minor issue: When I rename a file or folder that is in a fence, once I'm done renaming it, it pops out of the fence. Is there a way to keep this from happening, or is this a bug?

For some reason when I drag something onto my desktop some random icon comes out of its fence.

You need to treat your icons better, they're trying to escape...

Jeff: Vista Ultimate 64x. And dang! I can't remember what it was! That was a whole 4 days ago! ![]()

Okay, so the edit button still doesn't work. I think I remember what it was:
I just simply was trying to rename a file folder, and I think either an InDesign or Photoshop document. When I did so, sometimes it would stay put, sometimes it would pop out of the fence.

At the risk of restating whats already been said, I think this is possibly the most useful desktop element since WindowBlinds itself!!

If I could kindly disagree... This is the most useful desktop element since ObjectDock. ObjectDock came after Windowblinds. Sorry! I'm a dock freak! ![]()

Okay, another slightly annoying occurrance: I came to my computer this morning and found that a couple of file folders that are within a fence had thier folder icons changed to pieces of images. Even more strange is the fact that those image pieces are from a completely different folder! See image below:

Having a bit of an issue I made screen shot the fences won,t show and the icons go kinda blacked out like shadows?
Reply #58 Thursday, September 25, 2008 1:35 PM
Using PrintScreen default or some other app?
Using Vista32 business and XP 32, default Windows printscreen, no issues.

Sorry Zubaz I guess I wrote that wrong .The screen shot is what it looks like applied just could not figure out how to explain it so I took the screen shot with the app open so you could see the way the fences are set up.What it shows is exactly what ny desktop looks like.
Note: when I try to hide icons they all turn dark.A little investigating I found that dark grey color is the highlight color which is set either (normally through display settings/advanced) but Windowblinds sets the color so it changes depending on the skin.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled w/reboot after each 3 x.Just not sure.
