IconPackager 4 sneak peak...
Tuesday, February 19, 2008 by Draginol | Discussion: Icons
IconPackager 4 will let you change the colors of your icon packages on the fly.
For Windows Vista users, IconPackager will let users set their live folder icons independently of the icon package. So if a given icon package doesn't include support for Vista live folder icons, no problem, you can set them yourself.
The title bar and borders are from an upcoming WindowBlinds skin.

Agreed. I also like the ability to change colors of icons, there are a bunch of packages that would go perfectly with certain themes, they just needed color tweaking..

This is precisely what I am getting too. Filed support tickets and till now no fix for the issue, which means I can only use the few packs that came with IP. There hasn't been any updates since Oct 2007 either (and even that is a beta version), so the application is useless now. The last stable release was in Apr 2007.

However, I do hope the developers are able to properly address the basic functionality issues of the application in order to make it more stable, reliable, and user-friendly – before they focus on new features.
My current OS is Vista Home Premium, and I realize it takes time for applications to be updated to support new operating systems. I used IP for a year on my old XP system, though, and I found it to be the most irritating part of Object Desktop to use. Sometimes it would properly apply packages and other times it would not. Or if I tried to change one icon, it would throw the whole package out of whack. IP has also been the cause of Windows Explorer crashes. Since the documentation for the program is so inadequate and the forums are of so little help, I often find myself having to fumble around with “restoring icons”, “rebuilding icon cache” etc. and never feeling sure just what to do.

How exactly do you mean blank icons? Can you possible post a screen showing exactly what is displaying within the themes list of the application?
