Object Desktop to get new "components"

Premium Suites, Premium Icon Packages, Premium WindowBlinds skins

Friday, October 26, 2007 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News

Starting next week, we will be adding three new components for Object Desktop users! They will be:

  • Premium Suites
  • Premium WindowBlinds Skins
  • Premium Icon Packages

These 3 new components will be updated throughout the year with new skins, icons, and suites.

The first one we plan to deliver will be the Turbo WindowBlinds skin which will also be available as a $4.95 Master skin for users who don't have Object Desktop.  The next one will be the Quest theme which will be free for Object Desktop users but also be available for $9.95 for those who don't have Object Desktop.

To purchase Object Desktop or to upgrade from WindowBlinds to Object Desktop go here:

Is there a way to get the suite without having to install ThemeManager?

I downloaded and archived the PremiumSuite (as an sdc-file). When I unzipp this file, I get a heap of folders (AppData, Base, Base32....). In one of these folders I finally find the Quest.suite_ (notice the _ at the end). I rename this to Quest.zip, but whenever I try to unzipp it, WinRar claims it's not a valid archive.

Turbo is the Premium skin listed under ObjectDesktop

Doh! I kept looking in WindowBlinds thinking it would be downloaded with the updates to that!

Got'em now! Me is a happy camper!

To aufisch:

I also got Quest.suite_. But I simply used right click context menu and chose open with...winrar. It opened without a problem. Then I got .suite file which I extracted and one more time chose open with...winrar; then extracted WB and IP to their folders. It worked in this way.

Yep, Aufisch, it works this way....did that myself cos Thememanager does not apply WB's in Vista for me.

You can also make a copy of the suite file and just rename the .suite to .zip and it will open as a regular zip file with all the goodies in it. I never use theme manager...I always open them this way.

theAVMAN not knowing what you have tried or if you downloaded the WB6 update from yesterday, but if you open up SDC and look under Object Desktop there should be two separate downloads after WB6. One is for Premium Suites and the other is for Premium Skins.

Thanks for the help.

I found out that the Quest.suite_ had to be renamed to Quest.rar (thanks for the Hint Moletai), while the Quest.suite (without the _) is a zip-File.

Great suite, with nice animations. Thanks a lot Stardock!

Quest is very awesome, love all the Vista goodies with it. The only thing I dislike is that the bottem part of the tabs in IE seem unskinned?

I think Quest is my favorite suite ever. The Skin & Icons both are excellent and together they make the perfect Autumn style. Thanks very much indeed, Stardock!

Only that with start panel in Quest I have a problem from time to time.

Thanks Bichur, that perhaps helps for some moment, but distorted animation on start panel repeats afterwards. It is interesting that on Vista (my second PC) no problems with animated start panel, only on XP that happens.
