There are a whole lot of people living today not knowing what it was like before the Internet. Heck, there wasn't even home computers when the Internet got started.
The link is to a short article, not much but it got me to thinking, has the Internet lived up to, exceeded or fell short of expectations? Does anyone know what the original expectations for the Internet were?

Edit: The light buld just lit up over my head and I realized the Internet and the World Wide Web are two different things. Most people us the two names to talk about the same thing. Anyone know when the World Wide Web was started?

It always makes me wonder what the world would be like if we didn't have the Internet.

You almost got it right vStyler, Al Gore invented "Tree Hugging". Don't forget his lovely wife who invented censorship!!!!!! Remember her rants on music lyrics?
