Logon problems

Hi, for a while now, I have been having problems installing Logons into my logonstudio. I would dbl. click the downloaded file, and the Logonstudio window would open, but the files not in there. Can anyone suggest something please? I am getting really bored with the one I have.

What logon are you having trouble with (link)? Are you sure it's a .logonxp file?

ok, I checked it out, and tried to edit it so that it had .zip at the end, but it didnt do anything. None of the files I download anyways are "logonxp" even tho, when I go to looad, it says it is. The file says that its a Logonstudio Document. So it dosnt seem to have an extension at all
Well, I browsed the other thread you supplied, and I tried a different program "styleXP" and the file works in there, so I guess I'll use that for logins then ^^. Thanks for the help

Stylexp was probably conflicting with LogonStudio (I would definitely recommend LS, stylexp can leave some nasty stuff on your system). It also sounds like you have explorer hiding file extensions? Open up windows explorer, go to Tools > Folder options > View > and make sure hide extensions for known file types is *not* checked.

ok, I'll check out LS, but is it just LS, or is that just some abbreviated version?

Yes, LS = LogonStudio (because I'm lazy). 
I downloaded that logon and it worked just fine. I opened up LogonStudio, clicked on Load, selected the KingdomHearts2Logon.logonxp and it loaded right up. Not sure why it isn't working for you. Did you make sure that you have explorer set to show file extensions? Otherwise you could try again what boss suggested, rename it to .zip, unzip it, and copy the folder into the Program Files/Wincustomize/LogonStudio folder.

ok, well, I zipped it, and moved it into the LS folder, and now I have to wait for styleXP to uninstall, but It dosn't seem to want to work lol

Yeah it's a pain like that...which is why I never recommend it to anyone.

well, it works great, I like the interface and everything, but if it will harm my computer I want it off. I don't really like the look of LS, but it's not like I have to look at it very much

can you possibly specify what problems SXP causes (other than effecting LS) because the uninstaller isnt working, and also because I am not too much of a patient person when it comes to removing things.

I'm not sure, I've never actually installed it (the thought of hacking my machine to apply themes is not an appealing one to me).
I know there are others here more experienced with it, maybe they'll be able to help.

StyleXP won't hurt anything. I have them both installed because occasionally I have a request for one of my logons in logonui.exe format and I use StyleXP to make sure they work in that format before I post them.
But I create my logons in .logonxp format to be used with Logon Studio and that is what I use all the time.
As far as I'm aware...StyleXP doesn't hack any files. It replaces .logonui.exe in the Windows\System32 folder but keeps a backup so you can revert to the original.
Logon Studio doesn't touch logonui.exe, it creates a file called logonuiX.exe and has Windows use that as your logon.
It "skins" you logon as opposed to StyleXP which replaces the system file, but keeps a backup that it will restore when you use the button to set the Windows logon back to default.
I suppose StyleXP could cause problems if you tried to use a bad logon file and couldn't get it set back to the normal XP logon, but going into the System32 folder and renaming the logonui.exe.old back to logonui.exe should take care of that problem.
Long winded explaination over....back to your regularly scheduled program.
